Welcome to FollowTracker ("we", "our", or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how our Chrome Extension and associated Dashboard application collect, use, and handle your information when you use our services to track your Instagram followers and following lists.

2. Information We Collect

When you use the FollowTracker Chrome Extension, we collect the following data from the Instagram profile you are actively viewing:

• Profile Information: Username, display name, user ID, and profile picture URL.
• Connection Data: The public list of users that follow the profile, and the users the profile follows (usernames, display names, profile picture URLs, verification status).
• Authentication: We use your session cookies to securely link the extension to your FollowTracker Dashboard account.

Important: We do NOT collect or store your Instagram passwords. We do not access direct messages or other private account data.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information strictly for the core functionality of the service:

• To store snapshots of your follower/following lists in our secure database.
• To analyze and display changes (e.g., new followers, unfollowers) on your personal FollowTracker Dashboard.

4. Permissions Justification

The Chrome Extension requests specific permissions for the following reasons:

• activeTab and scripting: Used only when you explicitly click the extension button while on instagram.com. This allows the extension to read the structured data on the page to find the user ID and to make secure, authorized requests to Instagram's GraphQL API on your behalf to fetch the connection lists.
• https://www.instagram.com/* host permission: Necessary to communicate with Instagram's API to fetch the required data without being blocked by cross-origin restrictions.

5. Data Sharing and Transfer

We do not sell your data. The data extracted by the extension is securely transmitted to our backend infrastructure solely to populate your personal dashboard. It is never sold, traded, or otherwise transferred to outside parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

6. Security

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information. Your connection data is transmitted over secure sockets layer (SSL) technology and stored securely.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the dashboard application.
